Week 6: Our Last Home Meet!
Happy Sunday! Soooo many to-do's in this email as our season winds down (boo!) Please read all the way to the end so you don't miss anything.
Hands down, this week is our favorite dual meet of the season. It's our last home meet, Senior Night, and we do it UP!
Mills Farm vs. Wilshire Farm (at Home) - SENIOR NIGHT
Theme: Red, White & GLOW (wear your patriotic gear)
Swimmer Arrival: 4:20pm
Meet Begins: 5:30pm
We'll start the meet by celebrating this crew, who have a collective 110+ seasons of Mustang swim under their belts. Many of these kids started when they were 5 or 6; they'll take their last dive in our pool on Wednesday!
GLOW Party
Immediately after the freestyle relay, DJ Mike will turn the music up and we'll throw the beach balls in the pool. Kids get 15 minutes to party it up and celebrate the last home meet! IMPORTANT REMINDER: Kids cannot stay without a parent present and parents must supervise their children during this activity after the swim meet relays.
No outside friends are invited to this celebration -- we know the kids love to invite them, but we absolutely cannot add more kids in the pool or pool deck. Anyone who joins who is not a Mustang swimmer will be escorted from the pool area. Please share this with your swimmers!
Professional Action Shots at Wednesday's Meet
Swim photographer Wes Richardson will be at the meet on Wednesday taking professional photos of swimmers. (He will also be at champs, but many families prefer photos at our home pool.) He can only photograph one swimmer per heat. You won't be sorry to have these pics -- he charges a $20 pre-payment which can be applied to any photo(s) you order. See some pics from last year here! (Pro tip: Breast and fly give the best opportunity for photos, but he does a great job with all. If you have a kiddo in the IM, choose that!)
IMPORTANT: You cannot sign up until the heat sheet has been released on Wednesday. (You won't know which heats to sign up for.)

REMINDER: No Practice Friday July 3
No practice or Mustang Market on Friday. We WILL have one more Mustang Market next Tuesday, July 7. (This will also be our Champs Sendoff obstacle course and foam party!)
RSVP for SSA Championships – Wednesday & Thursday July 8/9
Our league championships are Wednesday July 8 (11 & Up swimmers) and Thursday July 9 (10 & Under swimmers). All swimmers who participated in at least two meets this season are eligible -- you do not have to "qualify" for champs. We HIGHLY encourage all swimmers to attend; it is really the pinnacle of our season and is so much fun for the kids. For many, it is their first meet in a "professional" swim facility (Shawnee Mission Aquatic Center).
The Champs Meet is now open for RSVP's on our website! Please note you can select events your swimmer is interested in, but coaches will ultimately make these choices based on what is best for the team. They start working on these entries early, so RSVPs will be due on Wednesday, July 1.

'A Splash of Orange' End-of-Season Party - Sunday, July 12
Hard to believe it's time to talk about the end of the season! You don't want to miss this celebration and awards ceremony. We recognize all swimmers on the Sunday after Champs with dinner and a program. Parents and siblings are encouraged to attend!
When & Where: Sunday, July 12 @ BVSW, 6-9pm
Attire: White with a 'splash' of orange. (Kids usually dress up a bit -- nice shorts/shirts and/or summer dresses; parents are similar!)

Order Mustang Yearbooks and Best Times Plaques
If you would like to order (or see more information) about the Mustang Yearbook for 2026 and/or our Best Times Plaques, please click here.
Yearbooks are nicely bound, hardcover and 50 pages of pure Mustang fun from the season. Plaques are a record of your swimmer's best times from the year. (Many Mustangs have a collection of these from all their years swimming!) Both items come in sometime in August, so that we can include Champs times and pictures from both Champs and the banquet.

Teen Night – Monday at 7PM @ Verhaeghe Park
It's COLOR WARS! Always a fan favorite, it's time to get messy! Wear clothes and shoes that you do not care about (or can rinse easily). If you have light colored hair, wear a hat or slick it back with conditioner. (For those of you that are new, the "mess" comes from throwing colored powder at each other!)
