Week 6: Our Last Home Meet!
Hands down, this week is our favorite dual meet of the season! It's our last home meet, and we do it UP to celebrate with a GLOW!
Mills Farm vs. Lionsgate (at Home)

Swimmer Arrival: 4:20pm
Swimmer Warm-Up: 4:30pm
Meet Begins: 5:30pm
Plan to stay a little after the meet for a special GLOW in the sky and swim party!
GLOW party
Immediately after the freestyle relay, DJ Jordan (filling in for DJ Mike) will turn the music up and we'll throw a zillion beach balls in the pool. Kids get 30 minutes to party it up and celebrate the last home meet! IMPORTANT: Kids cannot stay without a parent present. We will have lifeguards on duty, but truly appreciate parents on the perimeter of the pool keeping eyes on everyone!
Professional Action Shots at Wednesday's Meet
Swim photographer Wes Richardson will be at the meet on Wednesday taking professional photos of swimmers. (He will also be at champs, but many families prefer photos at our home pool.) He can only photograph one swimmer per heat, so a sign-up will be released as soon as the heat sheet is out on Wednesday. (It will come from Lindsay via email, usually sometime between 1-2pm) You won't be sorry to have these pics -- he charges a $15 pre-payment which can be applied to any photo(s) you order. See some pics from last year here! (Pro tip: Breast and fly give the best opportunity for photos, but he does a great job with all. If you have a kiddo in the IM, choose that!)
Meet Setup This Week
Wednesday's meet will not be quite as large as last week, but we are still going to bring in one large tent with tables for overflow space. The tent will be open to both teams' spectators. BYOC (Bring your own chair!) Relax in the tent with friends in the shade, then step up to the gate (or on the pool deck) to watch your swimmer.
VIP Seating Auction for Wednesday’s Meet
If you’d like a reserved table with umbrella, four chairs and a prime view…here’s your chance! Two tables available. The auction closes at noon on Wednesday. You can place a proxy bid (max amount you don't want to go over) so you don't have to keep close tabs on the auction. RSVP for SSA Championships - Friday & Saturday July 11/12
Our league championships are Friday, July 11 (11 & Up swimmers) and Saturday, July 12 (10 & Under swimmers). All swimmers who participated in at least two meets this season are eligible -- you do not have to "qualify" for champs. We HIGHLY encourage all swimmers to attend; it is really the pinnacle of our season and is so much fun for the kids. For many, it is their first meet in a "professional" swim facility (Shawnee Mission Aquatic Center).
The Champs Meet is now open for RSVP's on our website! Please note you can select events your swimmer is interested in, but coaches will ultimately make these choices based on what is best for the team.
Friday Champs Session (11& Up)
Doors open: 2:30pm for warm-ups (specific times to be assigned)
Meet begins: 4pm
Saturday Champs Session (10 & Under)
Doors open: 8:am for warm-ups (specific times to be assigned)
Meet begins: 9:30am
RSVP for 'A Splash of Orange' End-of-Season Party
Hard to believe it's time to talk about the end of the season! You don't want to miss this celebration and awards ceremony. We recognize all swimmers on the Sunday after Champs with dinner and a program. Parents and siblings are encouraged to attend!
When & Where: Sunday, July 13 @ BVSW, 6-9pm
Attire: White with a 'splash' of orange. (Kids usually dress up a bit -- nice shorts/shirts and/or summer dresses; parents are similar!)

Order Mustang Yearbooks and Best Times Plaques
If you would like to order (or see more information) about the Mustang Yearbook for 2025 and/or our Best Times Plaques, please click here.
Yearbooks are nicely bound, hardcover and 50 pages of pure Mustang fun from the season. Plaques are a record of your swimmer's best times from the year. (Many Mustangs have a collection of these from all their years swimming!) Both items come in sometime in August, so that we can include Champs times and pictures from both Champs and the banquet.

Teen Night – Monday at 7:30PM @ Sand Volleyball Court
Jersey Mike's is on the menu (must place your order in the teen GroupMe) followed by sand volleyball! Event will end at 9pm, no need to wear swimsuits for this one (we'll be dry!)
4th of July Week Practice
We DO have practices every day during this week EXCEPT Friday the 4th. This is also a great week to get some private lessons in to work on things for Champs! Swim Lesson Info
