Huge Thank You + Exciting Pool Updates
If you see these Mustang dads, give them a giant high five. They have gone ABOVE AND BEYOND to help us out and make this season the best one yet.
Jeff Auman - has been our Mustang meet starter for 13 years and is retiring! We are going to miss him on the pool deck so much, but he is still working behind the scenes as the HOA Board member in charge of the Pool committee. He and his committee have done a ton of work to get the pool up and running for this season.
Chris Hernandez and Zach Bickel are both members of the Pool committee and did the legwork to gather quotes for a new audio system at the pool, and presented it to the HOA board earlier this week. They knew that new lighting and new audio were the top two things on our wishlist and, in a joint partnership with the team and the HOA, we were able to get both approved! (No more dragging a zillion clip lights, speakers and extension cords out for every meet!)
Jordan Lashmett - As our HOA president, Jordan has helped facilitate all of the things mentioned above. He is always helping with something -- and even volunteered to source and install all of our new pool deck lighting to save us a ton of money. He also found a donor for a brand new electronic scoreboard we'll hang on the poolhouse for meets. If you see someone way up high on a ladder wiring lights or hanging the scoreboard, give Jordan a giant hug!
Our team is NOTHING without parent volunteers -- thank you to each and every one of you who do it and expect nothing in return (except a great summer for our kids!) Thanks to this awesome Dad Squad, with new audio, new lights, new scoreboard and a ship-shape pool, it's going to be an EPIC Mustang season!
Pretend Meet
There is a "pretend" meet on our website for new families to practice:
- Marking swimmer(s) attendance at meets and choosing event preferences
- Signing up for volunteer jobs - (the real volunteer sign-ups open May 15 @ 8pm). Here you can view all the job possibilities and practice signing up. Remember each family must earn SIX volunteer points. Some jobs are worth one or two points, depending on their duration.
Nothing you mark in this meet will carry over to an actual meet. It's just a place to practice how the system works for every meet. We will delete it when the season starts!
Thanks everyone!
Lindsay
Early Volunteer Sign-Ups (actual sign-ups come out May 15, these are just a few non-swim meet volunteer opportunities to earn points)
Sponsorships (we still need more!)
